Making an Appointment

The Portland Hospital for Women and Children provides services to insured patients and those paying for their own treatment (Self-Pay).

Making an appointment depends on how you pay and the services that you require.

Please note that you must contact Consultants directly for appointments as they are independent from the hospital.

Maternity

To arrange an appointment with the Midwifery Clinic, please call:

Women's Health

Outpatient Booking

To arrange an Outpatient appointment with an appropriate Consultant specialist based at the hospital, please call our Women's Health Outpatient Clinic: 020 7390 6200/ 6201.
To make an appointment with all other Consultant Women's Health Specialists, please visit our Find a Consultant page searching under the required area of women's health e.g. gynaecology, breast care. You can then make an appointment directly via the Consultant's secretary.

Inpatient Booking

Patients are referred to the hospital by one of the following methods:

GP - your GP will refer you onto a Consultant with admitting privileges at The Portland Hospital.
Embassy - by sponsorship and referral by an Embassy. In this case a letter of guarantee is required.
Consultant - a general Consultant Gynaecologist may refer to a more specialised Consultant for further diagnosis and treatment.

For a patient who wishes to have a procedure or surgery at the hospital, they are usually referred to our Reservations department by their Consultant.

Children's Health

Outpatient Booking

To arrange an Outpatient appointment an appropriate Consultant Paediatrician, please call our Paediatric Outpatient department on:
020 7390 6504. There are also Orthopaedic Surgeons and General Surgeons on site each day and every effort will be made to provide an early appointment.
Alternatively please visit our Find a Consultant page searching under the required area of Paediatrics e.g. Asthma. You can then make an appointment directly via the Consultant's secretary.

There is no Accident and Emergency department at The Portland Hospital, however our Urgent Referral Clinic is open on weekdays and Saturday mornings.

We have a Consultant Paediatrician on-call 24 hours a day for urgent treatment of medical conditions.

Imaging

To arrange an appointment with our Imaging Department for an ultrasound scan, x-ray, MRI or mammogram, please call: 020 7390 6087.

Physiotherapy

To book a Pregnancy Support Class, complementary therapies, or physiotherapy appointment, please call 020 7390 6553.
