The Portland Hospital Undergoes £2.5million Renovation
26 January 2010
The Portland Hospital London is currently undergoing an impressive £2.5million renovation to renew its patient and public areas. Included in the renovations are the Children's Outpatients Department, the Obstetrics Floors including the Labour Ward, the main reception area and hospital façade.
The Hospital currently treats over 45,000 women and children per year, spanning three service sectors; Women's Health Services, Maternity Services and Children's Services. The Portland Hospital recognises that a patient's experience is crucial to their general well-being and positive outcome of their care at the hospital. The new areas, which will be officially opened in the New Year, will provide a fresh and calming atmosphere for patients.
The current renovation follows the 2008 renewal of the hospital's paediatric units including a new five bedded Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Unit for Children and Young People.
Janene Madden, CEO of The Portland Hospital, said "At The Portland Hospital we are committed to providing the very highest level of care to our patients. The refurbishment of the hospital will enable us to continue providing this level of service but in a superior environment where comfort is key. We have listened to our patients and using their feedback we have been able to identify the key areas for change in order to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. The refurbishment will not only provide a luxurious experience for patients but also a pleasant, modern working environment for our dedicated staff members here at The Portland Hospital."
