The Portland Hospital is awarded with the highest 5 stars food hygiene rating by Westminster City Council
The Portland Hospital is delighted to be awarded with the highest food hygiene rating of 5 stars by Westminster City Council as part of their annual inspections to ensure patient safety.
Since January 2006 Westminster City Council annually arrange for authorised officers from their environmental health departments to conduct inspections in public food premises to ensure that high standards are met.
The star ratings range from no stars allocated to premises with the worst unacceptable levels of food hygiene, through to five stars for the complete compliance and offering the best possible high standards of food management services.
Alex Newton, Hotel Services Manager at The Portland Hospital commented:
‘The Portland Hospital are very proud to be awarded with the top 5 star food hygiene rating, we pride ourselves on achieving the highest quality in all we do and as a private hospital we offer the highest standards of food safety management and are fully compliant with food safetly legislation. This is vital for our patients' safety, wellbeing and recovery whilst being treated at our hospital'.
As part of the inspection the premises' structural conditions are checked, likewise a review of work practices, procedures and management of food safety is thoroughly reviewed.
The scheme is consistent right across London Boroughs and the grading scores used to decide the star ratings are based on a national approved code of practice.
