Dr Leslie is a General Adult and Paediatric Consultant at the Royal Free London. She has a special clinical and academic interest in cutaneous allergy, urticaria and itch. She is a Faculty Member of the Allergy Academy at Kings College, London, and the MSc Allergy Course at Imperial College, St Mary's Hospital, London, where she lectures on urticaria, angioedema and mastocytosis. Dr Leslie is regularly an invited speaker on these topics - along with many other aspects of dermatology including anaphylaxis, acne and rosacea - at national and international meetings.
Dr Leslie has recently contributed chapters on anti-histamines and the management of itch, for a new edition of “Systemic Drug Treatments in Dermatology” handbook and the “Handbook of Experimental Pharmacology” series of books. She has also co-authored a chapter for the upcoming 9th edition of the Rook Textbook of Dermatology and her review of current knowledge and clinical practice, “Itch” was published in the Medicine journal series in July 2013. Dr Leslie is also on the committees of the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) Drugs and Therapeutics Guideline Committee and the British Society for Medical Dermatology (BSMD).
Dr Leslie is Honorary Secretary of both the Dermatology Section and the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Section at the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM). She represents the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) on the Joint Specialty Committee, attending many workshops on behalf of the BAD, and serves on the BAD Education Sub-committee. Dr Leslie is joint advisor on Continuing Professional Development for the RCP, whom she also regularly represents at committees to appoint new Dermatology Consultants, and also peer reviews for the British Journal of Dermatology.
Dr Leslie is a Member of the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI), the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy (BSCA), British Society for Paediatric Dermatology (BSPD), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the European Academy of Venereology (EADV). She is also on the Council of the Independent Doctors Federation (IDF) and on the Medical Advisory Committee of the BMI Garden Hospital, Hendon. She is involved with All Party Parliamentary Group on Skin (APPGS), with whom she aims to promote academic and clinical interest in the practice and study of Medical Dermatology.
