Penny has been an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in central London for twenty years.
Penny's gynaecological interests include non-invasive treatments for uterine fibroids and endometrial disorders. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St. Mary's Paddington where she carried out her research into fibroids.
Penny is happy to see patients with peri-menopausal concerns, problem periods and queries regarding optimal contraception
She believes that the choice of delivery and care is different for every mother and that in order to make those choices you need up to date and accurate information.
She was commissioned to write the accompanying book 'Expecting a baby. One Born Every Minute' to accompany the Channel 4 series.
She writes regularly in the media most recently as a Huffington Post author .
In her NHS practice at Hillingdon Hospital she runs a specialist obesity clinic and is passionate about helping women manage their weight in pregnancy and after they have delivered.
She has been a member of the Scientific Committee at the RCOG and is currently reviewing Maternal Morbidity and Mortality with a team at NHS England.
