Hypermobility and Pain Rehabilitation
This outpatient programme has been developed for children who require an intensive programme of outpatient therapy that will aid return to a more normal lifestyle.
Often children and young people who have been living with hypermobility and pain become limited in their lifestyles as a result of their condition and they often talk about a loss of control over their lives.
The aim of this programme is to empower children and young adults to take ownership of their condition and regain some sense of control over their lives again. We do this through providing them with a supportive environment in which to strengthen and become fitter, learn about their condition and limitations and also about how and when they can extend themselves and push on to achieve the goals that they choose to aim for.
The programme consists of intensive physiotherapy and occupational therapy, with support from a specialist paediatrician, psychologist, tutors and play therapists.
