Accreditation
Registration & Accreditation
The Portland Hospital is registered with the Care Quality Commission who inspect us in all we do against their robust standards structure and National Minimum Standards.

We have participated in and achieved accreditation with the CHKS Healthcare Accreditation and Quality Unit (formally Health Quality Service accreditation scheme & previously Kings Fund Organisational Audit) since the 1990's which is an additional, voluntary accreditation.
In 2009 the Portland Hospital successfully retained its accreditation with CHKS and also gained accreditation with ISO9 001/2000.
Every year the hospital will have a monitoring visit to ensure that the standards for CHKS & ISO are still met.
CHKS This is a quality assurance tool for independent organisations which sets out a framework of standards which need to be in place to ensure the capacity to provide high quality service and to ensure that this is consistently reproducible CHKS HAQU accreditation programme Dec 2006.
ISO 9001/200 This is reviewed in conjunction with CHKS standards and is also another way of ensuring that quality systems are in place.
